How the eCOP smart plug works
The smart plug can be controlled remotely via an app or automation, enabling you to monitor and manage your energy use in real‑time
Measure
Become aware of your energy consumption by measuring your devices/appliances.
Analyse
View real‑time data in dashboards and analyse where you can optimise your energy usage.
Control
Automate actions with no‑code blocks to reduce energy waste.
Effortless energy management
The eCOP makes it easy to manage your energy consumption
Automate your energy usage
You can schedule devices to turn on and off automatically based on your operating hours, eliminating manual switching and cutting unnecessary consumption.
Measure your energy using colours
Colours can display different parameters, and the eCOP can light up in any colour you want. You can set actions to change the LED colour based on electricity consumption, electricity price or CO₂ emissions.
Automate actions based on real-time conditions
Set intelligent rules that react to your consumption, electricity prices or CO₂ levels, ensuring devices always run in the most efficient way.
Easy setup
You only have to connect the smart plug to Wi‑Fi and the Wappsto app (soon to be Wirtek IoT Suite app).
Detailed energy reports
Receive clear, automated reports summarizing total and standby usage, peak loads, estimated costs and CO₂ emissions, along with comparisons to previous months.

LED lights (status indicators)
Understand what each LED colour means during setup, operation and alerts
- No light – off
- Blue – Bluetooth mode; ready for Wi‑Fi setup via the Wappsto mobile app
- Green – connected to Wappsto Cloud and ready for use
- Yellow – updating firmware (during setup)
- Red – restarting
- These are the default colours; once configured, the meaning may change (e.g. green and red may indicate power usage or electricity price)
Smart plug reset (factory reset)
How to safely reset the plug and prepare it for a new installation
Important: after the reset, all data in the Wappsto Cloud will be deleted and the Wi‑Fi configuration erased; the plug will no longer be linked to your account.
To reset, while the plug is powered on, press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the LEDs blink white; the LEDs will turn red and then blue. Once you see blue LEDs, the plug is reset and ready for a new setup

Smartplug energy optimisation
Built for businesses with many distributed locations and non-critical electrical loads such as coolers, signage or auxiliary equipment
Discover our plug-and-play system that let you monitor, control and automate the energy use of any device connected to a standard outlet. It combines simple hardware installation with a cloud platform for real-time monitoring, scheduling, rules, alerts and integration into existing systems.
Retail chains, fuel stations, convenience stores and hospitality operators use it to standardise energy behaviour across sites without rewiring or operational disruption.
Frequently asked questions
Why is it named eCOP?
The smart plug is named “eCOP” because it acts like a police officer who watches out for energy waste.
How does the eCOP work?
The smart plug can be monitored and controlled remotely through a mobile app. Users can measure the energy consumption of connected devices, analyse real‑time data via dashboards to identify savings opportunities, and control consumption by setting automation rules with no‑code blocks
What makes energy management with the eCOP “effortless”?
The plug supports automation: users can schedule devices to turn on and off based on operating hours, eliminating manual switching and curbing wasted energy. It also lets users assign LED colours based on electricity consumption, price or CO₂ emissions. Intelligent rules can react to real‑time conditions such as electricity prices or CO₂ levels, and the app delivers detailed reports on total and standby consumption, peak loads, estimated costs and emissions. Setup is simple: connect the plug to Wi‑Fi and to the Wappsto (soon to be Wirtek IoT Suite) app.
What are the main benefits of using the eCOP smart plug?
The device is designed to cut energy consumption, reduce electricity bills and lower carbon emissions. The device can deliver a return on investment in less than one year.
How does Wirtek’s Smartplug Energy Optimisation solution make use of the eCOP smart plug?
The solution combines eCOP smart plugs with a cloud platform to curb standby losses across chains of retail or hospitality sites. Each eCOP plug measures and controls energy use in real time via Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth and can be managed remotely through schedules and no‑code automation.
