Wirtek has signed a two-year contract with the US-based global sports organisation, Rugby Tens (R10). The partnership will see Wirtek develop a custom Salesforce-powered web platform, enhancing R10’s ability to scale high-performance rugby pathways from youth to national teams, and international competitions.
A Centralised Digital Hub for Rugby Operations
The engagement also strengthens Wirtek’s foothold in the US market and across 30 countries where R10 is present while offering exposure to 24+ National Rugby Unions that collaborate with R10.
This aligns with Wirtek’s international growth roadmap and the Services Division’s focus on high-impact, long-term client partnerships.
Building on a successful previous collaboration between Wirtek and a division of R10, the project will be delivered by Wirtek’s X-Tech business unit. This unit specialises in emerging technology areas where rapid innovation and agile service delivery unlock competitive advantages.
The platform will serve as a centralised digital hub, consolidating fragmented data, from players’ and coaches’ profiles and performance tracking, to logistics, events organisation, and partnerships management.
The new infrastructure will document each athlete’s and coach’s journey in structured digital profiles. This will enable real-time performance data and information critical for decision-making in athletes’ development, as well as assessment for opportunities such as colleges, professional clubs, national teams and R10’s events.
A Purpose-Driven Partnership Built for Impact
“This collaboration reflects the core of Wirtek’s strategy – delivering tailored, high-impact technology services through long-term partnerships. By applying our expertise to support R10’s mission, we are reinforcing our commitment to scalable solutions that deliver both business value and societal impact. It also strengthens our presence in the US, a key focus in our international expansion.”
Michael Aaen,
CEO Wirtek
Rugby Tens, based in California, manages high-performance training centres in San Clemente, CA and Cape Town, South Africa, as well as global franchise-based competition for men, women, boys and girls, fostering and promoting equality and inclusion in sport.
R10’s franchises include San Clemente Rhinos, a USA Rugby-designated National Development Program (NDP), Balkans Honey Badgers (Europe), Serengeti Elephants (Eastern Africa), Cape Town Wild Dogs (Southern Africa), as well as Major League and Curry Cup Regional franchises.
“This project is taking R10 global operational efficiency to the next level and creates a foundation for greater visibility, trackable pathways, better decision-making for athlete development and more opportunities for players and coaches, including girls and women, and athletes from Tier 2 and Tier rugby nations, which historically have had less access to pathways. Wirtek understands and is also excited about our purpose, and their technical expertise is the bridge to scale to the next level globally.”
Andreea Trufasu,
CEO of Rugby Tens
The agreement further demonstrates Wirtek’s ability to deliver business-critical systems to purpose-driven organisations across industries, while steadily expanding its international client portfolio.
