In addition to the acquisition of the Romanian company, CodeWizards, and their plans for opening sales offices in Europe, WirTek have intensified their strategy for the future even further.

The market for international outsourcing is in rapid growth, and WirTek have already received their first inquiries regarding their collaboration model, which makes insourcing as well as various types of outsourcing possible. And while prices in the traditional offshore countries, such as India, are increasing, more and more are looking towards Eastern European developers, who apart from being technically competent often possess strong project manager skills. Furthermore, the cultural and time zone differences are much less pronounced and their competencies in English are very high. WirTek are now in a position where they can compete in terms of prices with the software development houses from low-price countries and they will at the same time be able to provide the customers with added value by shielding them from the complexity of offshore outsourcing. Proximity to the customer and in-depth knowledge of the telecommunications sector are still important collaboration parameters.

During the past financial year, WirTek have experienced an increase of sales of 41% and a solid bottom line. WirTek want to exploit the favorable market conditions and have thus initiated a large investment for carrying through the company’s internationalization plan. WirTek are convinced that their new internationalization strategy will bear fruit from the next financial year with annual growth rates of more than 30% in the course of the next 4–5 years.
WirTek are expecting that the increase in turnover within the same number of years will bring about a strong increase in the number of employees in Romania as well as in Western Europe. The establishment of a sales and project department in Germany, where almost 10% of WirTek’s turnover already lies, will be initiated in 2006, closely followed by additional departments at carefully selected places in Western Europe.
