Wirtek announces that Pragmasoft, a Wirtek company, has been awarded the PME Líder 2025 status by IAPMEI, the Portuguese Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation. The recognition highlights Pragmasoft’s strong financial performance, credibility, and sustained contribution to Portugal’s technology ecosystem.
The PME Líder distinction is a prestigious recognition created by IAPMEI to distinguish small and medium-sized enterprises with superior economic and financial performance, strong management quality, and high credibility in the market. The programme aims to highlight companies with sustainable growth strategies and strong competitive positioning in their sectors.
Pragmasoft became part of the Wirtek Group in August 2024, when Wirtek acquired the Portuguese software company as part of its Accelerate25XL growth strategy. The acquisition expanded Wirtek’s international delivery footprint and significantly strengthened the group’s capabilities in clean energy and industrial software development.
Founded in Portugal and led by Humberto Ferreira, Pragmasoft has built more than two decades of expertise in developing advanced software solutions for energy, automation, mobility, and industrial systems. The company has been particularly recognised for its work in real-time and safety-critical software, including technologies such as SCADA systems, automation platforms, and communication protocols used in complex industrial environments.
Today, Pragmasoft operates within Wirtek’s Solutions division and contributes specialised knowledge to the development of scalable digital solutions supporting the global energy transition. With over twenty years of experience in software engineering and dedicated teams working on critical industrial systems, Pragmasoft continues to play a key role in expanding Wirtek’s capabilities in the energy and green technology domains.
The PME Líder 2025 distinction reflects the consistent performance, resilience, and innovation demonstrated by the Pragmasoft team over the years. It also marks an important milestone in the ongoing integration of Pragmasoft within the Wirtek Group and reinforces the value of combining Pragmasoft’s deep domain expertise with Wirtek’s international software engineering capabilities.
“Being recognised as PME Líder 2025 is a strong validation of the work the Pragmasoft team has been doing over the years. Our focus has always been on delivering reliable and robust software solutions for complex energy systems. As the sector evolves and digitalisation becomes increasingly critical, we remain committed to helping our clients operate and manage energy infrastructure with confidence.” - Humberto Ferreira, Business Unit Director at Wirtek
With Pragmasoft fully integrated into the Wirtek Group, the combined organisation continues to strengthen its role in delivering advanced software solutions for the energy sector, supporting clients as they modernise infrastructure, improve efficiency, and accelerate the transition to sustainable energy systems.
The PME Líder recognition further reinforces Wirtek’s commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality software engineering services while expanding its presence in Portugal and internationally.
“As part of Wirtek, we are strengthening our ability to support the evolving needs of the energy sector, combining deep domain knowledge with robust software engineering to help accelerate the energy transition.” - Humberto Ferreira, Business Unit Director at Wirtek
